Postponing Until February

Because of the passing of my mother in law Tuesday, I will be postponing taking the bar exam until February. She was 83 when she went to her eternal home in heaven. It is a time for family and would be a mistake to take it unprepared. Too much will be taken away with arrangements, travel, etc. Disappointing but the right thing to do.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of your MIL at this very stressful time. My thoughts are with you.

I've followed your blog for about a month now and have very much enjoyed the journey. I will continue to follow. Do what you have to do, the bar exam will still be there (in all it's fabulous glory) in February.

My best to you and your family.

it is a shame about your mother-in-law, but unless you or your husband are totally emotionally incapacitated by her death, I'd advise just taking the test. You already have taken it once, so you know what to expect. Life is often tragic, but we need to do our best. I know a man whose child died 3 months before a bar exam in a different state. He did not study and all and had no intention of taking the exam. His wife begged him just to take it and try, as a way of coping and thinking about something other than his tragedy. He studied for 2 weeks prior to the exam and passed. Maybe you could too?

Thank you for all your kind comments. It was a difficult time and very intense at times making studying for the bar exam impractical. The State Bar of California has indicated my refund has been approved and I will receive my refund check soon.
